$ Balancing Your Budget Activity $

How many times have you asked your parents to buy you something and been told,

“We can’t afford it”? Maybe what you wanted to buy had not been planned for in

your family’s budget. A budget is a listing of all the money you earn (income) and all the

things you spend it on (expenses). Sounds like a simple idea, but it can be quite

a challenge to make a realistic budget and an even greater challenge to stick to it.

Your Task

Create a realistic monthly budget by first choosing a career that interests you. You will do this under the INCOME link. Next, you need to budget what you will be spending your money on. Complete this part of the project under the EXPENSES link. Finally, you will answer questions about your budget and what you learned under the QUESTIONS link.

The Budget Table

As you find your income and expenses, you will need to fill out a budget table using Microsoft Excel. Use the BUDGET TABLE link to do this. No number crunching is needed, as the table is set-up to do it for you
