If you love the game and movie Clue, then you
will love the Center Stage Players’ fall play Murder’s in the Heir.
Almost every character in this hilarious mystery has the weapon,
opportunity and motive to commit the unseen murder of billionaire Simon Starkweather, and it's up to your audience to decide who
actually did it! Each of the heirs to the tyrannical billionaire has the
means and the motive to do away with him. Starkweather
gathers his family and employees to announce the contents of his will. His
lawyer, Lois van Zandt, reveals that he has bequeathed vast fortunes to his
befuddled niece Fiona, her playboy son Jordan, his great-niece Paula (a
Southern belle) and his grandson Simon III, as well as to his many servants.
Then Lois delivers the bombshell! Within hours this will becomes invalid. Of
course, the rejected heirs are not pleased, so it's not surprising when they
roam the old mansion carrying such items as an ax, a gun and poison.
Predictably, the lights go out, and Simon is discovered murdered. Simon III
is determined to find his grandfather's killer, with the help of detective
Mike Davis. The play's unique ending, utilizing secret ballots gathered at
intermission from the audience, determines the killer. Cited: http://www.pioneerdrama.com/searchdetail.asp?pc=MURDERHEIR |

About the Center Stage Players...
Westlake High Schools’ (WHS) Drama Club, now called
“The Center Stage Players” consists of approximately 45 active
students. They are involved both on stage and behind the scenes.
Students contribute their technical expertise and ushering skills to other
activities that take place in the Performing Arts Center. Our purpose is to present
a balanced program of plays which will enrich the program at WHS, to promote
interest and ability in the theatre arts and aid in the cooperation and
artistic integrity in theatre work. The club provides members with a
range of productions both performed by the students and viewed by providing
transportation and assisting with admission to quality theatrical
performances and conferences. Each year we present one
play and one musical. The students themselves direct an Evening of
One-Acts. We
are members of the International Thespian Society, an honor organization for
high school students involved in theatre arts. We have attended and
performed at many district conferences and State Conferences. Many of
our members have contributed over 500 hours of participation in Drama Club
during their 4 years in high school. Interested in joining The Center Stage Players? Contact Ms. |
